Chocolate, I Can Take It Or .......I'll Just Take it....

This surely is the way to my heart! A hugely lavish and totally unexpected and mostly undeserved gift.

The contents include:
various chocolates,
sugared violet and rose petals which look so pretty dropped into champagne,
preserved orange slices (oranges confits),
orangettes (chocolate covered slices of orange peel, my personal favourite.)
and a tin of confiture orange amere (basically marmelade). They also make rose petal jam and violet jam there.
How spoilt are we?

The photo above shows the factory, the Confiserie Florian des Gorges du Loup an old established company, situated in Pont du Loup where the products were made by hand.

They do free guided tours everyday in French, English and sometimes German and also have their own web site which I will link to later but for now I can smell my dinner burning!

This post is slightly incoherent. I'm still overcome.

Yum, especially for the orangettes! There is a nice walk up the river you can do there.

Oh my! Drooling in jealousy over here. Seriously, chocolate and bitter orange together have got to be one of the best combinations on earth!
Thanks for commenting on my blog today. I'm happy to have found yours too.

I walked up the river from the P D L, but I don't remember seeing the Madonna statue, I only remember sitting on some big rocks in the sun. This was about ten years ago...
