Of Bread and Cakes
Yes....Sorry about this. More cakes! I think we're seeing a theme here: cakes and pretty villages. Actually I've just got in from line dancing and I'd like something sugary right now. The photos work just as well....
This is Duttos, the boulangerie and patisserie in the village. They make fabulous bread and even more fabulous cakes as you can see. Gilles, the cake maker, can do stuff with chocolate that's probably illegal in some countries(just joking) and has won competitions for his cakes. One year he made a giant Easter egg from chocolate and raffled it on Easter Sunday. I won it... 5 kilos of chocolate and I never took a photo. We shared it amongst the children of the neighbourhood and have never since been so popular or sought after....

Angela,
I started reading and looking at the pictures and was instantly drawn to my dark chocolate bar I've been nibbling off the past week. Perfect avec du vin rouge!
Mmmmm...

Hi Angela!
You said you had been to line dancing. That got me a bit curious because it's not exactly a French dance tradition.
Maybe you can write a post about it? So you would stop tempting us mortals with cake pictures... Just joking!!! :-))
Still haven't tried that raspberry pavlova but I hope to find some time this weekend.

I recognise that Champion supermarket there....
Two suggestions for local businesses if you don't know them
1) the potter (Noel) whose atelier is under the supermarket (more or less) has plenty of little objets that work out well for souvenirs/gifts. He also runs a potery class on thursday mornings so you can make your own.
2) just off the roundabout is a guy called Remy with a tractor and trailer most days. He sells excellent veggies and, in the summer, magnificent tomatoes. This morning the tomatoes were rather less appealing though :(
OooOOOOoooh. Those are to die for. My sweet tEEth want!
